How To Search
We recommend you start your search by clicking on the 'Length' selection button.
Choose the van body length you need, then add other selections such as roof height, body style, manufacturer, fuel type or gearbox.
Length and height are often considered together because many vans are described using combinations such as 'L1 H1', 'L2 H2', 'L3 H2' or 'L4 H3'.
This will narrow down the results as there are typically over 5,000 van derivatives available at any time. It will also shorten the search time.
You don't need to make all of the selections to start a search. When you are ready, click the 'Search' button to use the selections you have already included.
'Length' Search
We can search according to the body length of the van, using common length categories such as 'L1', 'L2', 'L3' and 'L4'.
These categories help identify short wheelbase, medium wheelbase, long wheelbase and extra-long wheelbase vans where this information is available in the vehicle data.
Length can be particularly important where vans need to carry long loads, use loading bays, park in restricted areas or operate in towns, cities and customer premises.
'Height' Search
We have abbreviated the type of van roof height according to commonly used UK van height codes:
- Standard Roof (H1)
- Medium Roof (H2)
- High Roof (H3)
- Extra-High Roof (H4)
Height can affect access to car parks, loading bays, depots, workshops, low bridges and other height-restricted locations.
'Body Style' Search
You can also narrow the results by body style, including panel vans, pick-ups, chassis cabs, crew vans, dropsides, Lutons, tippers and minibuses where these are identified in the vehicle data.
Body style can be relevant because vans with the same length may still have very different load areas, payloads and commercial uses.
'Manufacturer' Search
If you want to restrict the search results to one brand of van, select the brand from the 'Manufacturer' list.
Once a manufacturer has been selected, you can also restrict the results to a specific model range where available.
'Fuel/Gearbox' Search
If you want to restrict the search results by fuel type, select the required fuel.
If you select 'Electric' as the fuel type, please note that the gearbox type will normally be 'Automatic' irrespective of any selections in the 'Gearbox' list.
Search Results
Once the search results appear, you can display additional details such as body dimensions, payload, economy, emissions, performance, maintenance and battery information where these are available.
To compare actual van length, open the 'DIMENSIONS' section and select 'Body Length' or 'Wheelbase'. You can also open the 'PAYLOAD' section and select 'Max. Load Length' where the data is available.
This can help users compare vans against specific operational requirements, such as carrying ladders, pipework, timber, furniture, tools, equipment or delivery consignments.
To see additional items, click on the buttons for 'BODY', 'DIMENSIONS', 'PAYLOAD', 'ECONOMY', 'EMISSIONS', 'PERFORMANCE', 'MAINTENANCE' or 'BATTERY' and check the boxes for the items you want to display on screen.
The most effective way of searching is to set your van requirements first and then click the 'Search' button, but you can also see the impact of changing individual search criteria if instant search updates are enabled.
