Use this page to search and compare available Euro NCAP safety ratings for current electric vans.

The results include the overall Euro NCAP star rating together with the published scores for adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, vulnerable road user protection and Safety Assist.

Euro NCAP has assessed fewer commercial vans than passenger cars. Consequently, some current vans do not have a published Euro NCAP safety rating and therefore will not appear in the results.

Euro NCAP assessment standards develop over time, so electric vans assessed in different years may have been tested under different protocols.

A vehicle's overall star rating provides a useful summary, but the individual assessment scores can provide additional context about its performance in different areas.

You can filter the results by manufacturer and overall star rating, or search for a particular manufacturer, model or derivative.

For a broader explanation of crash testing, star ratings and the individual assessment categories, see:

Vehicle Safety Ratings Explained

Important: Euro NCAP assessment protocols change over time. Two vehicles with the same overall star rating may have been tested under different standards and in different assessment years.

Understanding The Results

This page shows available Euro NCAP safety results for electric vans using structured vehicle information held in the DriveSmart database.

Not every score is available for every vehicle. A blank result does not necessarily mean that a vehicle received a score of zero. It may mean that the individual result was not available in the source vehicle data.

Overall Star Rating

Euro NCAP awards an overall rating from zero to five stars. The rating provides a summary of the vehicle's performance under the assessment programme applying at the time it was tested.

  • Five stars – high overall safety performance under the applicable assessment protocol.
  • Four stars – strong overall safety performance, although some areas may offer less protection or fewer assistance features.
  • Three stars – reasonable overall protection but with greater scope for improvement.
  • Two stars – limited safety performance compared with more highly rated vehicles.
  • One star – relatively limited protection or crash avoidance performance.
  • Zero stars – the vehicle may satisfy legal type-approval requirements but provides little additional performance under the Euro NCAP assessment.

Adult Occupant Protection

Adult Occupant Protection measures the protection provided to adult occupants in frontal, side and rear-impact assessments.

The score considers factors including the vehicle structure, airbags, seat belts, restraint systems and recorded injury measurements.

Child Occupant Protection

Child Occupant Protection assesses how well children are protected when suitable child restraint systems are fitted.

The assessment may also consider the ease of fitting approved child seats and the availability of suitable mounting points.

Vulnerable Road User Protection

Vulnerable Road User Protection considers the potential risk to pedestrians and cyclists.

The score may include the design of the vehicle's front end together with systems designed to recognise pedestrians and cyclists and reduce the likelihood or severity of a collision.

Safety Assist

Safety Assist measures driver-assistance technologies intended to help avoid collisions or reduce their severity.

Depending on the assessment year, relevant technologies may include:

  • Autonomous Emergency Braking
  • Lane support systems
  • Intelligent Speed Assistance
  • Seat-belt reminders
  • Driver attention and occupant monitoring

Assessment Year And Testing Standards

Euro NCAP testing standards develop over time as vehicle structures, crash-avoidance systems and driver-assistance technologies improve.

Electric vans assessed in different years may therefore have been tested under different protocols. Ratings from different assessment periods should not automatically be treated as directly equivalent.

Manufacturer Filter

Select a manufacturer to show only electric vans produced by that manufacturer. Select All Manufacturers to restore the complete list.

Star Rating Filter

Select an overall star rating to show only vehicles with that published rating.

Selecting All Star Ratings displays all available results, including vehicles where an overall rating may not be available.

Search Bar

Use the search bar to find a manufacturer, model or derivative. Searches are not case-sensitive.

For example, you can search for:

  • Ford
  • Mercedes-Benz
  • Iveco
  • E-Transit
  • eSprinter
  • LWB

Results Display

Use the Results Display control to show 20, 50, 100 or all available results.

Showing all results may take longer to display, particularly on a mobile device.

Sorting

Click a column heading to sort the results by that column. Click the same heading again to reverse the sort direction.

Important Notes

Euro NCAP has assessed a more limited range of commercial vans than passenger cars. Where a van has not been assessed, no safety rating will be shown. Ratings may apply across several derivatives within the same model range.

Euro NCAP ratings normally apply to the vehicle specification, equipment and assessment conditions defined for the published test.

Safety equipment may vary by derivative, model year, market or optional equipment package.

Users should confirm the safety equipment fitted to a particular vehicle before making a purchase or leasing decision.

DriveSmart provides factual vehicle and safety information and does not recommend or rank vehicles as best or worst.
