Electric Company Car Benefit And Tax

Use this page to browse and compare the taxable Benefit-in-Kind for current electric company cars in the UK.

Electric company cars have no tailpipe CO2 emissions and are taxed using the appropriate percentage for zero-emission company cars.

For the 2026/27 tax year, the appropriate percentage for a zero-emission company car is 4% of its P11D value.

The annual taxable benefit shown in the table is calculated by applying the relevant Benefit-in-Kind percentage to the car's standard P11D value.

The taxable benefit is not the amount of income tax paid. The employee's company car tax depends on their income tax position and the income tax rate applying to them.

You can filter the results by manufacturer, search for a particular manufacturer, model or derivative, and display 20, 50, 100 or all matching electric cars.

Select a vehicle from the results table to view its price, equipment, options and technical specifications.

Important: The table uses standard vehicle data. Factory-fitted options, accessories, capital contributions, private use contributions, periods when the car is unavailable and changes during the tax year may alter the final taxable benefit.

Tax year: The figures shown are based on the company car tax data held for the current 2026/27 tax year. Benefit-in-Kind percentages can change between tax years.

Understanding The Results

This page shows current electric company cars together with their standard P11D value, Benefit-in-Kind percentage, annual taxable benefit and electric range using information held in the DriveSmart company car database.

P11D Value

The P11D value is the taxable value used when calculating company car benefit.

It is generally based on the car's list price, including VAT and delivery charges, together with qualifying accessories, but excluding the first registration fee and annual Vehicle Excise Duty.

Factory-fitted options and accessories may increase the P11D value and therefore increase the taxable company car benefit.

Benefit-in-Kind Percentage

The Benefit-in-Kind percentage, often shortened to BIK percentage, is the appropriate percentage applied to the car's P11D value.

For the 2026/27 tax year, the appropriate percentage for a zero-emission company car is 4%.

Company car Benefit-in-Kind percentages are set by tax year and may rise in later tax years.

Annual Taxable Benefit

The annual taxable benefit is normally calculated as:

P11D value × Benefit-in-Kind percentage

For example, an electric company car with a P11D value of £40,000 and a 4% appropriate percentage would create an annual taxable benefit of £1,600.

Company Car Tax Payable

The annual benefit shown in the table is not the amount of income tax payable.

The taxable benefit is added to the employee's taxable income. The tax payable therefore depends on the employee's income tax rate and individual tax position.

As a simplified illustration, an annual taxable benefit of £1,600 would produce income tax of £320 at 20%, £640 at 40% or £720 at 45%, before considering the employee's wider tax circumstances.

Electric Range

The Electric Range column shows the published battery-electric driving range held in the vehicle data where available.

Real-world range can vary according to temperature, speed, driving style, route, payload, use of heating or air conditioning, battery condition and charging behaviour.

Selecting A Vehicle

Click the Select button beside a vehicle to open the DriveSmart price, equipment, options and technical specifications page for that derivative.

Adding factory options may change the P11D value. The vehicle details page can therefore provide additional information when examining a specific car.

Manufacturer Filter

Select a manufacturer to restrict the results to electric cars from that manufacturer.

Select All Manufacturers to return to the complete list of current electric cars.

Search Bar

Use the search bar to find a manufacturer, model or derivative. Searches are not case-sensitive.

You can enter a full vehicle name or a shorter term. For example, you can search for a manufacturer such as BMW, a model range or part of a derivative description.

Results Display

Use Results Display to show 20 Results, 50 Results, 100 Results or All Results.

Showing all results may produce a longer page because every matching electric car is displayed at the same time.

Sorting The Results

Click a column heading to sort the results by that value.

You can sort by manufacturer, model, derivative, P11D value, BIK percentage, annual benefit or electric range. Click the same heading again to reverse the sort order.

Important Notes

The table uses standard vehicle data. Factory options, accessories and changes to the vehicle specification may affect the final P11D value.

Capital contributions, private use contributions, periods when the vehicle is unavailable and changes during the tax year may affect the taxable benefit for an individual employee.

The figures should be checked against the vehicle supplied, the applicable tax year and the employee's actual circumstances.

DriveSmart provides factual comparison data and does not recommend electric company cars or rank cars as best or worst.

DriveSmart reviews this page when HMRC announces significant changes to company car taxation affecting electric cars.

Electric Company Car Benefit And Tax FAQs

How is electric company car benefit calculated?

The annual taxable benefit is normally calculated by multiplying the electric car's P11D value by the applicable Benefit-in-Kind percentage for the tax year.

What is the electric company car Benefit-in-Kind percentage for 2026/27?

The appropriate percentage for a zero-emission company car is 4% for the 2026/27 tax year.
